Ford Figo Wins 2011 Indian Car of the Year Award



The phenomenal Ford Figo was selected as Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY) 2011, earning the country’s top automotive award in the fiercely competitive and rapidly growing Indian market. Now in its sixth year, the ICOTY is awarded to a new vehicle after comprehensive testing by a jury of leading automobile journalists in India.

 The compact hatchback from Ford will appeal to the Indian car lovers. Available in both diesel and petrol engine variants. A 1.2L DuraTec petrol engine that has a maximum torque of 102nm @ 4000 rpm and a 1.4l Duratorq diesel engine that has a torque of 160nm @ 2000rpm. 5 speed manual transmission that provides stability and stability control. Figo scores well in the functional features like Airconditioner with Heating, Front Power Windows, Driver Seat Adjust, a Bluetooth Phone Interface and more.

Engines: The Ford Figo is available in both petrol and diesel versions, all with five speed manual transmissions and power steering as standard:
  • A four cylinder 1196cc 16V DOHC Petrol engine, rated at 71 PS (52 kW; 70 bhp) @6250rpm with 102 N·m (75 ft·lbf) @4000rpm maximum torque. 
  • A four cylinder 1399cc 8V SOHC Diesel engine, rated at 69 PS (51 kW; 68 bhp) @4000rpm with 160 N·m (120 ft·lbf) @2000rpm maximum torque.[4]
